Exposed roots (receding gums) can often be recovered. There are several, highly effective and dependable surgical techniques to accomplish this goal.

In the past it was necessary to transfer soft tissue from the patient’s palate to the tooth or teeth with recession. Of course, this resulted in two surgical sites undergoing healing, which means two possible areas of discomfort.
However, more recently, a possible approach is to use donor tissue. There are several dependable skin donor products. They are used in medicine and in dentistry. These donor tissues have been screened and tested thoroughly leaving them with outstanding and long lasting success rates.
